NESBEM, the New England School of Bioenergetic Medicine, is an online, live-guided school for the study and practice of coherence.​
We teach applied bioenergetic medicine as a living field of inquiry. Our students come to study the body, mind, emotional field, soul, environment, and larger field as one living system.​
We are not a passive online school. We are a relational learning field. Students learn through live teaching, guided practice, reflection, mentorship, dialogue, and participation.

NESBEM is a school for serious students, practitioners, educators, and individuals who want to study coherence in a more complete way.
We are here for people who sense that the personal and professional world requires more than information consumption, more than technique, and more than isolated self-study. It will require perception, relationship, regulation, embodiment, and the capacity to participate in living systems with care.

We teach through an online model because access matters. Students should be able to enter this work from the lives and communities they are already living inside. But our online school is not detached. It is live, guided, relational, and applied.

We are building a learning environment where students are known, supported, challenged, and invited into practice.
NESBEM operates as a dba of the University of Northern California, carrying forward a longer educational lineage while giving that lineage a new and living expression.

We honor the history that made this school possible, and we also recognize that a school must evolve to meet the needs of its time. NESBEM’s current form is online, live-guided, and focused on bioenergetic medicine, coherence, integrative science, and embodied practice.

This evolution matters. We are not leaving the past behind. We are carrying its educational commitment forward into a form that can reach students across place, profession, and life stage.
The school is no longer defined by a single physical site. It is defined by the learning field we create, the questions we ask, the faculty and students who gather here, and the coherence we practice together.

OUR WAY OF LEARNING
Learning here is active, relational, and alive.
Students do not come to NESBEM simply to receive content.
They come to study, practice, ask questions, notice patterns, engage the body, reflect on experience, and learn in relationship with faculty and peers.

Our courses include live sessions, calls, webinars, or guided contact. This allows the material to be interpreted, practiced, questioned, and integrated. Students are not left alone to assemble the work by themselves.

This is one reason NESBEM feels different. The work is rigorous, but it is not abstract. It is embodied, but it is not vague. It is online, but it is not detached.

OUR INSTITUTIONAL HOME
The New England School of Bioenergetic Medicine operates as a program of the University of Northern California (UNC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit institution founded in the mid-1990s by Dr. Y. King Liu.
​
The UNC Foundation, also established by Dr. Liu, supports the institute through grants, donations, and philanthropic contributions.
​
The school maintains an academic affiliation with Saybrook University for students seeking accredited pathways through our Nature Based Therapeutics and Applied Bioenergetic Medicine programs.
Our books are published through Three Pools Publishing, an imprint of UNC.
