The Descent of Inanna & The Sacred Return

The Descent & The Return is a live, seasonal initiatory journey through the ancient story of Inanna—seven gates down, a sacred Stillpoint, and seven gates home.

We will follow Inanna into the Great Below, moving through one gate each week. At each threshold, we explore what the story asks us to relinquish: the identities, protections, measures, loyalties, and ways of knowing that have helped shape who we are.

At the deepest point of the journey, we enter the Stillpoint, including two weeks of Holy Nights over Christmas and New Year. Rather than rushing toward resolution, we make room for stillness, witnessing, restoration, and the kind of knowing that can emerge when we stop trying to become something.

Then the movement turns.

Beginning in January, we travel through seven gates home, encountering what was relinquished on the descent and asking a different question: What do I choose to carry now—and what will I have it serve?

Through mythic teaching, depth-oriented inquiry, embodied practices, ritual, reflection, and facilitated community, this journey offers a way to enter the darkening season consciously and return with a deeper relationship to your own life.

No previous experience with Inanna, mythology, or the mystery traditions is required.
